This book is like no other that I have read before. My experience with fiction is not as far- fetched as many others, but its growing steadily. Written by a man who has worked with autistic kids his whole life, he brings his experience to your fingertips. Each word in this book has worth.
The story follows an autistic child and the “suspicious death of a neighborhood dog,” and never before have I been so aroused by a murder investigation in this way. Its almost as if you know the main character by the end of the story, and you feel compassionate towards him as you make way through the pages.
Whether you want to know more about autism, people skills, or fill your senses with interesting random facts- this book deserves acknowledgment. Marvelously written, and excellently portrayed. An introduction to autism and the work of Mark Haddon- in the best possible way.
